“Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.”
I felt a little down this week. I thought about ways I could shift my perspective in the days to follow and decided I was going to only listen to worship music on my drives every day. Praising God in the quiet space that fills my day shifts something in my spirit.
Singing words of gratitude and praise even when I’m not sure I fully believe it in the moment has a way of moving my thoughts toward hope. God sent His Son for me, why doubt that He will continually move in my life in the days, weeks, and years to come? He wants more for me. Am I self-sabotaging what He can offer me?
We’re the most joyful when we’re most satisfied in Him. Placing hope in myself instead of Jesus is dangerous because as a human being I have limited resources, but God’s resources are vast and limitless. I choose hope in my Father today, knowing He won’t deprive me of what I need.
Prayer: Thank You Lord for being hope in a world that feels so dark. You are the light of the world, and I pray the way I live will be a reflection of the bright luminescence You fill the earth with. Today I will seek ways to praise You in the small moments knowing You’re working for my good in each minute that passes.
